Data centers continuously adopt new technologies and design strategies to enhance power efficiency, a key focus for those seeking effective data center solutions. A widely used metric for evaluating data center efficiency is Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), which represents the ratio of total facility power consumption to the power consumed by IT equipment such as servers.

In 2023, data centers accounted for approximately 4.4% of total U.S. electricity consumption. While this figure is expected to increase—potentially reaching 6.7% to 12% as artificial intelligence expands, a focus on cleaner and more efficient energy sources are a nticipated to help mitigate environmental impacts.
